Some other ideas that I had were either to utilise a large photo album and film someone turning the pages and then insert the animation into the individual frames in After Effects.  the little girl could then jump from frame to or hide in-between pages and run behind things.  Could be quite fun…….

Filmed this at home just to see if it would work and then i was planning on adding the animations over the top in After Effects.

Another idea was to have the illustrations drawn on various sheets of paper and then animate the paper by screwing it up and cutting it or blowing it away, folding it etc.

Princess Peach Style.

The animation Mann shared got me to investigate further styles online.  I really wanted to use the clouds that I drew earlier and these along with the animation Mann sent me reminded me very much of the old computer games such as Mario Bros where the character jumps across and up and down onto clouds and in particular the Princess Peach series.  Here are some images from princess peach:

As you can see these are of similar style to the clouds i was working on earlier:

This was my idea for a new storyboard but at the moment it is very late in the game and i am not sure if we would be able to accomplish it.

Lovely Little Animation

Mann very kindly shared this little animation with me, which i think is lovely.

I just love how friendly and welcoming this animation is and I particularly like the addition of the quirky little touches like the cat rolling out of a ball and the way they have used different perspectives to add interest such as the way the road is curved and gives a rolling appearance which leads you along the story.
